sustainability
For Sapor, sustainability is the balance between the four dimensions of ecology, economy, social affairs and circularity.
Sustainability Mission Statement
Sapor sees people at the center of their actions and, derived from this, comes first and foremost on how to deal with the human resource in a sustainable manner in harmony with the environment and nature. Sapor takes responsibility for people in the second educational path or with disabilities and supports them as part of a social project. Sapor promotes circular value creation and sustainable use of resources. Sapor is committed to reducing CO2 in the company.
sustainability commitment
Sapor is the oldest traditional dry soap dispenser and solid soap manufacturer on the market with exclusively locally manufactured products in Germany and based on the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein. The company, the products as well as the transport have been CO2 neutral since 2020.
Our goal is to rasp different solid products in flakes in order to completely avoid the use of plastic bottles or soapy cartridges, to conserve resources and still have the comfort of dosed liquid products.
In the manufacture of our soaps, we put the production waste back into new productions. This creates a circular cycle without production waste. We are also happy to take back all of our dispenser products at the end of the long product life cycle and work them up again. We also offer spare parts for all dispensers. Our products in the Herba series consist, for example, from a bioplastic with 75% grass fibers made of scented meadow hay from the Odenwald and recycled PP. At the end of the product life cycle, we take back the Herba products, recycle them in our own cycle and use them to produce new dispensers.
With our forest farmer Moritz, in southern Germany, Sapor is planting old wild fruit varieties and rare softwood tree species once a year that can deal better with climate change. Although Sapor already compensates for its CO2 emissions together with PrimaKlima and their projects, we still think that everyone should also personally get involved in counteracting climate change with individual contributions.
Sustainability Practice
The new solid soap dry soap dispenser developed by Sapor to ECO and Circular Design principles is based on the idea of changing the existing system of liquid soap in pump dispensers and plastic bottles to use solid soap by rasp. so that the environmental impact and the CO2 footprint can be significantly minimized compared to the use of liquid soap and in order to completely avoid disposable plastic bottles in the future. Our dry soap dispensers are also…
- Climate-neutral: The soap dispensers are produced in a climate-neutral local manner as part of a social project.
- Certified: A pure organic soap is used in the organic dry soap dispenser. This is NCS (Natural Cosmetic Standard) certified, without fragrance, perfume and completely without preservatives, 100% biodegradable. The vegetable soap noodles used come from certified sustainable cultivation (ECOCERT, RSPO).
- Zero Waste: Does not cause any plastic packaging waste and no soap residue.
- Circular: When it comes to the choice of organic donors, the possibility of environmentally friendly disposal has already been considered when selecting materials. The dispenser initially replaces fossil resources in the usage phase, and can then go through one or more recycling processes through a 100% material mechanical recycling in the Sapor’s own cycle.
- Resource-friendly: Water consumption in production and use is greatly reduced by dry soap. Plus: The yield of one piece of solid organic soap (40g) corresponds to approx. 1 liter of liquid soap and is enough for 400 handwashes. The materials of the dispensers are made of renewable raw materials.
- Quality: Form stability, stiffness and abrasion resistance guarantee components of extremely long service life.
- Transport: All our products are transported CO2 neutral to the customer.
Sustainability Goals
- Continuous annual reduction of actual CO2 emissions in the company.
- All materials and fabrics are guided in cycles.
- Complete waiver of the use of palm and coconut oil in all products. Search for local alternative resources for complete replacement.
- All products are gradually certified C2C. New products are already designed according to the C2C principle.
- CO2 neutral design of the entire supply chain, including suppliers.
